In OverHerd you play an English nobleman in charge of an over-enthusiastic catapult unit. Your assignment? Demolish the wall of your enemy’s castle by firing livestock at it. The challenge? You have to do it in the dark of night using only sound to guide you. First, scan the horizon until you hear your target. They won’t be hard to find — they’re the obnoxious guys teasing you mercilessly from atop their walls. Using a Bose AR technology-enabled device, position your head to indicate direction and angle of your shot. Double-tap to launch. The game will give you audio feedback telling you whether the cow, pig or chicken you’ve hurled at them has fallen short, gone long, or scored a direct hit. Armed with this new info, you can adjust your aim and shoot again. If you score three hits before sunrise, the enemy walls will be breached and your army will be able to successfully assault the castle! This game requires the use of a Bose AR-enabled device to play. The original version was developed for the Bose AR and Playcrafting Boston Game Jam where it took top honors. |
“OverHerd” Discontinued
We’re saddened to announce that our audio-only game “OverHerd” was removed from retail outlets on July 15, 2020. While we’ve had tremendous fun developing and supporting this wildly different and inclusive gaming experience, the Bose audio technology the game is based upon has been discontinued, and our license to use that technology terminated. OverHerd was the winner of the 2019 Bose AR and Playcrafting Boston Game Jam and it debuted at the Bose AR-CADE Booth at Pax East in 2019.
